UberASSIST London Launches as a Cab Service Specifically for Disabled Customers

By Aatif Sulleyman on at

Fresh from being cleared to carry on doing its thing, whether that pisses off black cab drivers or not, Uber's launched a service specifically for disabled customers in London, called uberASSIST. It caters to blind people, as well as users with wheelchairs, walking frames and scooters.

Over 100 drivers, who are required to have completed a disability training course, have signed up to the scheme, which passengers can access by tapping 'ASSISTUK' on the promotion screen in the app. The uberASSIST rates match up with those of the regular uberX service.
