That poor Star Wars fan whose desperately sad appeal set the internet aflame a few days ago? He got it. JJ Abrams phoned his house and a few Disney execs bought him an "unedited" version of The Force Awakens to watch. In your face, cancer.
The news of Daniel's success came from his wife Ashley once again, who posted the news on her Facebook page. She explained: "To all our wonderful supporters, friends, family and awesome strangers: Daniel's final dream was just granted!!! Today the wonderful Disney, Bad Robot and Lucasfilm teams made his final dream come true, Daniel just finished watching an unfinished version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens!!!"
She didn't say whether he thought it was any good or not or if Luke was behind the mask or inside the Chewbacca costume, but she continued: "We would like to thank the awesomely talented JJ Abrams for calling us yesterday to tell us Daniel was getting his wish granted! Lastly I want to thank ALL the amazing people who helped make this happen!!!"
Even Mark Hamill, who might play Luke in the film or might be inside R2-D2 or some other surprise, was happy with the news, tweeting: "Thanks to the powers-that-be for making his dream come true." [Standard]
