AT LAST! Sky Q’s official price details have been announced and it won’t be quite as expensive as we first thought. It’s available to buy from 9 February, with home installations starting at the end of the month. As we reported earlier, Sky is managing to keep costs down by loaning Sky Q boxes to customers, meaning they'll need to be returned when your contract ends. The set-up process, however, will cost £99 and there'll be an additional £50 installation fee.
The base Sky Q bundle comes in at £42 per month, and includes the Sky Q hub, which features 1TB of storage and allows you to record three live shows while watching a fourth. You also get access to over 300 channels, over 50 of which are HD, as well as Sky Go Extra and more than 300 Sky boxsets.
If you’ve got a little more money to burn, the Sky Q Silver bundle could be the one for you. At £54 per month for new customers, you get everything that the Sky Q package offers, and then some. Silver customers will be treated to double the storage, as well as the ability to record four shows while watching a fifth. Read our comprehensive Sky Q breakdown for all of the details.
There are, of course, optional extras too. For an extra 17 smackers, you can add Sky Movies, while Sky Sports comes in at an extra £25.50 a month. If you want both, fill your boots for £34.50 extra per month.
