Throw Your Valuables In This Wifi-Connected, Motion-Sensing Safe

By Bryan Lufkin on at

In today’s world of constant mass breaches of personal data, fears of spying drones, and nightmarish visions of AI-fuelled robot rebellions, it’s nice to know some new technologies can fall squarely into the category of “wholly secure”—like this nifty wifi-connected safe.

Security company First Alert is announcing a host of new products at CES today, one of which is this fancy smart safe that can connect remotely to wifi and Bluetooth via iOS devices, and unlocked remotely via the company’s Onelink Home app on your iOS gizmo or Apple Watch. It’s battery-operated with an accelerometer built in, which lets the safe alert users from the same app if the safe detects shady motion nearby.

The price and release date haven’t been announced yet, but we’ll update this post when we know.
