Microsoft's Binning Last-Gen Windows Store App Exams This Summer

By Gary Cutlack on at

Microsoft has announced quite the cull of its existing developer exam scheme, kicking out loads of older Windows 8 App Store certificates so they can be replaced by their new Windows 10 App Store equivalents.

Those working towards App Store certifications now have six months to finish up their learnings, with plenty of the MCSD certs on the way out by the summer. Microsoft's Born To Learn Blog has the full list, including such niche educational lines as Developing SharePoint Server 2013 Core Solutions and Upgrade Your MCPD: Web Developer 4 to MCSD: Web Applications Examination.

The affected exams cease to exist on July 31, so those working toward the qualifications will need to have scheduled exams well before then to allow for failures, retakes, more failures and more retakes. [Microsoft via The Register]
