Accused Dating Site Serial Killer Faces Multitude of Additional Charges

By Gary Cutlack on at

Possible serial killer Stephen Port, who's already charged with drugging and killing four men he met through gay dating sites, has had more charges added to his record of shame, including failed poisonings, rapes and other assaults.

The new charges cover attacks on eight other men, with Port accused of an additional six cases of administering a poison, seven rapes and four sexual assaults. He denies everything.

The police, however, say he met the men on gay dating sites and encouraged them to visit his home, whereupon he poisoned them with large quantities of GHB -- the muscle relaxant formally known as gamma hydroxybutyrate that's often used in place of MDMA in the club scene. The bodies of four men were found dumped in an East London churchyard in 2014, with the latest charges perhaps dating as far back as 2011.

Port's trial is set for October. [Sky]
