Supposed iPhone 7 Lightning-to-3.5mm Adapter Pictured

Something that looks extremely like a Lightning-to-3.5mm adapter has been spotted, a device that may well keep a future iPhone without a headphone socket connected to a pair of normal headphones. Sources say that Chinese tech manufacturer Foxconn is making the thing and it'll come in the box with every iPhone 7, seeing as the next iPhone's strongly rumoured to be dropping the 3.5mm headphone socket.

The photo above comes from Tinhte, which has actually produced an entire video about the three-inch bit of wire:

Given Apple's fascination with design ethics, it's hard to imagine how it might think that iPhone users would want such an unfashionable dongle hanging off the bottom of their phones. It's like something LG would do, for god's sake, although it is at least fairly slim and unintrusive.

Apple had better have something pretty good to trade in return for losing the headphone socket, though, as it could be a crowd-losing move. [Tinhte via Trusted Reviews]
