You Don't Break Han Solo's Leg and Get Away With it

Han Solo’s leg has been avenged, with Disney subsidiary Foodles Production (UK) Ltd pleading guilty to two criminal charges relating to that accident on the set of The Force Awakens in June 2014.

Harrison Ford -- then 71 years young -- broke his leg after he was struck and pinned to the ground by a hydraulic metal door, the, ahem, force of which is said to equate to ‘the weight of a small car’, on the Pinewood set of the Millennium Falcon.

"It could have killed somebody,” said Marshall. “The fact that it didn't was because an emergency stop was activated.”

He told the court that Ford had walked through the door, hit a button and walked back through it, believing the set wasn’t live and that it would not close. However, it was remotely operated by somebody else and crashed down on him. Ford was subsequently air-lifted to the nearby John Radcliffe hospital.

Foodles, meanwhile, will be sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on August 22nd. [BBC]
