Apple has hinted that it may jack-off all over the MacBook, with numerous users being confronted with potentially worrying surveys in recent days.
The most concerning of the lot asks how if customers use the headphone jack on the MacBook Pro with Retina display. One of the options in the short list of answers is ‘Not sure’.
As feared, the company ditched the headphone jack on the newest models of the iPhone, labelling the bizarre decision “courageous”. If the MacBook gets the same treatment, the inevitable online backlash could make for excellent entertainment.
Apple’s surveys aren’t focused solely on the headphone jack though. The company’s also scrabbling around for information relating to the machine’s battery life and various other high-tech holes, such as its USB ports and SD card slot.
I just received a survey from Apple that contained this question: pic.twitter.com/tlylnMMDE1

Interesting survey from Apple about how I use my rMBP, where, battery life, ports, etc. All the things people talk about with a refresh.

If your blood’s already boiling, you should take a little solace in the fact that leaks of the new MacBook Pro, which is set to arrive next month, suggest that the headphone jack is here to stay. For now, at least. The SD card slot, however, is expected to disappear.
Gossipers reckon the new MacBook will also feature four USB Type-C ports, but HDMI port, USB-A port, or a MagSafe connection. [MacRumors]
