Virgin Trains Has Launched a Wanky 'Mindful' Service to Subdue Unhappy Customers

Virgin Trains has decided that the most cost-effective way to stop people complaining about its delayed/overcrowded/ludicrously expensive services isn’t by actually improving them, but by launching a wanky ‘mood-boosting’ channel designed to relax them.

Be Mindful -- yes, that’s its actual name -- is available on Beam, the operator’s entertainment app. It features slo-mo footage of trains travelling through pretty scenery in locations such as Lake Windermere, the Yorkshire Dales and Loch Lomond.

"We know a lot of our customers lead busy and stressful lives, so we wanted to launch an exclusive channel to make their journeys an even more positive and relaxed experience,” said Virgin co-chairman Patrick McCall, speaking in whale song. “Here at Virgin Trains we pride ourselves on continuously improving our customers' on-board experience and that includes their positive mental health."

Over the past 12 months, 17% of Virgin's East Coast trains failed to reach their destination within 10 minutes of their scheduled arrival time, while 13% of the company’s West Coast services also failed by the same punctuality measurement. [EveningTimes]
