New Report Says The Grand Tour is the 'Most Illegally Downloaded' TV Show Ever

Inconsistent as the first series has been so far, we all know that The Grand Tour is proving rather popular. Unfortunately for Amazon, millions of viewers have been downloading the big-budget show illegally.

That’s according to a report from MUSO, published in the Mail on Sunday. It says that the first episode of The Grand Tour was illegally downloaded a whopping 7.9 million times, with that figure dropping to 6.4 million and 4.6 million for the next two shows.

The stats show that British viewers are the worst offenders, contributing to a 13.7% chunk of the illegal downloads, and MUSO calculates that Amazon may have lost up to £3.2 million in revenue to pirates... for the first episode of the series... in the UK alone. Painful.

“It is the most illegally downloaded programme ever,” MUSO chief commercial officer Chris Elkins told the Mail on Sunday. “It is off the scale in terms of volume. It has overtaken every big show, including Game Of Thrones, for the totals across different platforms.” [Mail on Sunday via Independent]
