The April Fools' Day deluge has already begun, and Amazon's virtual assistant Alexa is joining in with some mild japes of her own.
From today, you can say "Alexa, make me an April fool" and she'll come back with things like "Ordering 100 tubes of toothpaste. To confirm your purchase, say 'wakka wakka wakka'" and "switching permanently to talk-backwards mode."
Some are funnier than others, and sometimes Alexa comes back with some really quite strange and random answers that seem to be intended for other commands. Mine keeps saying "This device has only one account" and "A map of your location." As functional as ever, then.
Maybe the joke is that I'm saying the same command to a robot over and over and expecting different results.
