Amazon is Bringing Original TV Shows, Like The Grand Tour, to the Eurostar

By Tom Pritchard on at

Travelling isn't fun, particularly when you have to plan ahead and make sure you have enough to do. For some that might involve downloading a bunch of films and TV shows, but if you're ravelling by Eurostar Amazon has you covered. It's bringing a bunch of its original programming to the train service, including Giz UK's favourite TV show The Grand Tour.

Like Virgin's onboard entertainment system, passengers will only need to connect to the free Wi-Fi on the latest fleet of Eurostar trains. From there they'll have free access to over 300 hours of original Amazon programming on their laptop, phone, or tablet. Included are The Grand Tour, The Man in the High Castle, Transparent, plus kids shows Gortimer Gibbons’ Life on Normal Street, Just Add Magic, and The Kicks.

To mix things up, and prevent any regular passengers from having to watch Grand Tour episodes more than once, the onboard catalogue will be refreshed every few months.

This new service goes live today, and can be accessed via the official Eurostar app. So if you're heading to Paris, Belgium, or any other mainline Eurostar destinations in the future, you have one less thing to worry about when you're packing your suitcase.

Just like how Amazon has Jeremy Clarkson advertise drones and Fire TV sticks, I can definitely see Amazon use the trio of presenters to their advantage. It won't be long now before we see an advert, made to look like a Grand Tour challenge, featuring Hammond and may amusing themselves with the new onboard entertainment.
