Spotify's Rounding off the Year by Showing People a Bunch of Music Stats

By Tom Pritchard on at

If 2016 goes down as the year where all the famous people died, 2017 will end up as the year when all the famous people turned out to be scum. That, plus all the political nonsense that's been going on all over the world, meant that 2017 has been a bit bleak to say the very least.

While 2018 might not be much better, the people over at Spotify want you to look back and think about the good times first. Which is why it's just launched 2017 Wrapped, which shows you a bunch of stats about the music you listened to over the past 12 or so months. It shouldn't be a surprise since Spotify does this every year, but it's nice way to look back. Provided, of course, that you use Spotify.

If you want to see the kind of stuff it'll bring up for you, this is what Giz UK Editor James O'Malley ended up with. I'd show you mine, but I haven't used Spotify since 2011.

It's not massively in detail or anything, but it's nice to take a look at whoever you've been listening to and work out whether you just end up listening to the same longs over and over.

You can link up your account and see what you've been up to this year here.
