Dundee's Camperdown wildlife centre is not currently open to welcome your social media content generation field trip, as it's been closed for four days so its monkeys can grieve the death of a member of the pack.
The lion-tailed macaque is apparently loads more empathic that your average YouTuber, with any death in the community requiring many days of mourning in a process that involves the preening and guarding of the recently deceased monkey body. So there's a dead monkey in the enclosure and they're not taking it out.
A spokesperson for the centre said: "We hope you understand that the closure of the Wildlife Centre recently, to allow our macaques time to carry out this process. It is the right decision for our animals. The closure today will lead in to the new year holidays where we will reopen on Thursday January 4." [STV]
