Lego Celebrates 10 Years of the MCU With a Poster Parody

By Tom Pritchard on at

Lego owes a lot to its licensed brands, seeing as how the very first licence (Star Wars) helped rejuvenate the brand at the turn of the century. Since then we've had a lot of different franchises transformed into brick form, including the world of Marvel. This year is obviously a big year for that company, seeing as how Avengers: Infinity War is very nearly here and also the fact it's been ten years since the shared universe kicked off with the release of Iron Man.

Marvel Studios has been doing a lot to celebrate that anniversary, and now Lego is getting in on the action with a brickified-version of the original anniversary poster released back in February.

In case you want to compare, here's the original. It's in Japanese, but the imagery is obviously the same:

It's not clear whether this is just one of those things Lego posts online for fun, or whether this poster will actually find its way into the hands of fans. It strikes me as the kind of thing that gets given away to five people rich/lucky enough to be at a specific booth at San Diego Comic Con as soon as it opens. Then again it's exactly the kind of thing Lego would give away if you spent £X on Lego Marvel merchandise. We'll just have to wait and see. Until then I have no doubt that some intrepid eBay sellers will have be developing their own versions to sell at an extortionate rate.

Avengers: Infinity War hits UK cinemas on 26th April. [BleedingCool]
