Last year Lenovo released the Mirage AR headset complete with the Star Wars: Jedi Challenges app. In that app you could do all sorts of Star Wars-y things, like play Dejarik holochess and fight villains in intense lightsaber battles. What you couldn't do is get other people involved, until today.
To celebrate May 4th Lenovo has announced that it's added multiplayer to the app, meaning you can actually play with your friends. Assuming, of course, that they spent £250 ona headset for themselves. Unlike the game itself, which puts you against a hologram of one of the franchises dark side-wielding villains, this is local multiplayer and you'll have to be face to face with the person you want to dual.
The headset is primarily so you can see each other's lightsabers, and so the game knows who's winning. Like the virtual duels it'll also show visual cues so you have a brief heads up before your partner attacks, letting you block or parry and get your counter attack in. The duel will also increase in difficulty until someone emerges the victor, while the loser is drenched in lava and left to die.
Alright I made that last bit up, but the rest is true. This is your chance to have a proper lightsaber battle with your friends, rather trying to beat each other up with tubes of coloured plastic that make swooshing noises.
