Same day delivery is fast becoming a thing, to the point where it probably won't be long before free next-day delivery option isn't going to be anywhere near good enough for some types of people. The latest company to jump on the same-day delivery bandwagon is EE, meaning you'll get your shiny new phone as quickly as two hours after you order it.
The super-fast delivery is only going to be available in the Greater London area at first, which nobody should be surprised about, and comes with an expert who will show customers how to set up a phone so they can get the most out of it right away. Unlike some same-day delivery services EE isn't charging people for the convenience of not having to wait.
My first thought is how useful that will actually be, because setting up a phone isn't very hard - especially if you already have a smartphone to transfer your data and apps from. Still there are bound to be people who still can't differentiate between smartphones and magic, and need a helping hand to get things going. EE also mentioned the experts will be able to get the new phone connected to any smart home products you might have, including those fancy cars that come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The downside is that same-day delivery will only be available with a select range of flagship phones, and obviously only applies if you order online. All you need to do is choose ‘superfast delivery with expert set-up’ during the checkout process, then pick the most convenient appointment.
