Look, Now the Galaxy Note 9's Retail Box Might Have Leaked

By Tom Pritchard on at

Leaks never stop. Ever. We're close to the launch of the Galaxy Note 9, and if anything they've increasing in frequency - probably in an attempt to beat launch day. Earlier today we brought you a promo video Samsung accidentally leaked by itself, and now we have a look at what is supposedly the retail box.

Well the front of the box itself is nothing interesting, because like all Samsung Galaxys it's just black with some branding. What is interesting is the back, where all the important details and specs are located. Assuming you are able to read Russian.

So what do we have? Taking this as face value means we're going to get a phone with the long-rumoured 4,000 mAh battery, a welcome 700 mAh increase from the Note 8. There's also the 6.4-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED screen, the 12 MP dual camera with variable f/1.7-f/2.4 aperture (seemingly the same as the S9+), an 8MP front camera (f/2.4), 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage.

It also confirms the S-Pen is also a Bluetooth remote of sorts, that the camera has 960fps slow-mo, IP68 water and dust resistance, and the iris scanner. If rumours about the Galaxy S10 are to be believed this will be the last time Samsung will have the eye-based biometric security feature.

It certainly lines up with a lot of what we've heard before, aside from Samsung sticking with 6GB of RAM. Unless the models with more storage will also come with extra memory, that is. We can't verify this in anyway, and it could be an elaborate fake, so it all seems to check out based on what we've seen. We'll just have to wait until next Thursday to find out for sure. [Ubergizmo]
