After a wee tease earlier in the week, Lego has unveiled its next Ideas set: the Pop-Up Book (21315). And it looks great.
It's an 859 piece set, and will retail for £60 when it releases on 1st November. Not a bad price for a set of that size. It comes with four new minifigures – Little Red Riding Hood, her grandmother, the Big Bad Wolf, and a giant. There's also a microfigure Jack – presumably from Jack and the Beanstalk (along with the giant).
It looks like the book comes with two interchangable centre sections – one cottage for a Little Red Riding Hood scenario, and another that displays a scene from Jack and the Beanstalk.
As with a lot of the Lego Ideas set, it comes with some extra information along with the building instructions, too. There's a brief introduction about the designers themselves, as well as a short history on pop-up books as well as the two particular fairy tales featured in this set. A nice touch!
It's a good-looking set, and one that's unlike anything else we've seen from Lego before. Well, perhaps apart from this little free gift from earlier in the year which celebrated Hans Christian Anderson. But despite being book-shaped, that one wasn't pop-up. The Pop-Up Book set will be available in Lego stores and selected retailers from 1st November. Get it on your Christmas list, yeah? [Lego]
