Yesterday we learned that OnePlus was planning on having its big OnePlus 6T launch event on 30th October, and not 17th as had previously been rumoured. Today the company has revealed exactly when the phone is set to hit shop shelves. It's not making us wait too long, because the OnePlus 6T will go on sale exactly one week later on 6th November.
Sales will open at 10am GMT for us here in the UK, and 10am CET for the Europeans who may have stumbled across this page by accident. That does mean their sales open up an hour earlier, so if you desperately want to get your purchase in before anyone else in the UK you can - just as long as you have a VPN and let the doorman of your French Chateaux know in advance.
As OnePlus has been eager to tell us, the OnePlus 6T will come packed with an in-display fingerprint scanner - the unlock portion of the new 'Unlock the Speed' slogan. Cool futuristic tech that avoids having to slice a hole in the chassis for a rear-mounted scanner. Sadly this new feature comes at the expense of the 3.5mm headphone jack, and will cause some sort of price increase. How much of an increase isn't clear right now, so we're just going to have to wait until the end of the month to find out. The same goes for the rest of the specs, including the size of the larger battery we've been promised.
The launch event is set to take place in New York (not India, as rumours claimed), with the company selling off tickets to die hard fans who don't want to tune into the livestream. Sadly those tickets now appear to be sold out, so you won't be claiming your free pair of Bullets Wireless earphones anytime soon. You'll have to pay O2 £70 just like the rest of us.
