It's been known for a little while that the OnePlus 6T would be getting one of those fancy in-display fingerprint scanners, negating the need for a rear-mounted scanner that inevitably leads to fingerprint smudges on your camera lens. It's not such a common feature on current smartphones, so it makes sense that the 6T's official hype campaign would kick off by emphasising this new addition to OnePlus devices:

There's not much to go on, but the teaser does confirm that the phone is using the slogan 'Unlock the Speed', as first revealed by leaked images of what were alleged to be invites to the OnePlus 6T's launch event in India. As with the OnePlus 6, it also means the company's focus is on speed above all else. Hopefully that speed will not ignore the in-display scanner itself, because nobody wants to have to wait too long for their phone to unlock.
Despite the fact the phone is rumoured to launch on 17th October, which is about two and a half weeks away, we haven't seen much from the phone. There have been leaks, naturally, though some of them are far less trustworthy than others. We've also had a few bits of information from OnePlus itself, like the aforementioned in-display fingerprint scanner, as well as the fact that the 6T will not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Other bits of speculation include a 3,700 mAh battery, a chipset that's identical to the OnePlus 6, and a smaller teardrop notch. Those last bits are still unconfirmed, so be sceptical.
Hopefully we don't have very long to wait before we find out what's what, but in the meantime you can be sure OnePlus is going to kick the marketing campaign into gear. [Android and Me]
