Nando's clearly isn't one of those brands that insists Christmas must start in October, having just announced one of the new additions to its menu for the Christmas season. Turns out we're going to get a very special peri-peri gravy this year, just for the month of December.
The new side will be available fro 4th to 31st December, and will cost £1.25 for a jug's worth. It's a chicken-based gravy, obviously, and it means you can enjoy all the perks of gravy while simultaneously giving your food an extra kick. I would guess that this won't be such a popular addition in the southern counties, but I hope the Northern Nando's chains have enough stockpiled to account for local gravy popularity.
The gravy will be available at every Nando's restaurant in the UK, but unfortunately it's the only festive menu item planned this year. So those of you hoping for a repeat of last year's Mzansi Christmas Burger are out of luck. Gravy isn't overtly Christmassy by itself, so this is a shame, but it's better than nothing. At the very least it gives you the opportunity to try and recreate the recipe at home. That would certainly give your turkey a bit of a welcome kick on the big day. [Metro]
