These days lots of people like to consume their media on the internet, because it's convenient and literally updates all the time. But magazines do still exist, popping out every month with a large paper book of extra content you can read whenever you like - even if there's no WiFi. Future Publishing, our parent company, produces many of these magazines, and it's knocked 20 per cent off the price of all subscriptions especially for Black Friday.
When I say 'many' of those magazines I really mean it, because they cover more topics than I can even begin to remember. There's something for everyone, with the obvious big boys like Total Film, T3, What Hi-Fi, and SFX, as well as bunch of more niche topics the rest of us have no clue about. If you're into caravans, airguns, or terraced housing (yes, really) then there's something for you. Okay that last one is a one-off issue, and not a regular subscribable magazine series, but you get what I mean.
There's even one magazine solely dedicated to the Porsche 911, which would make a great Christmas present for the Richard Hammond in your life.
Full disclosure: management asked us to write a post about this, and we felt that we had to. For one thing it stops them asking awkward questions about why we didn't, and of course the more money Future makes, the less likely they are to shut us down.
Prices start at £7.50 a quarter, but that's before you take Black Friday into account. You can also choose between subscribing to the print version, digital version, or both. The digital-only subscriptions are usually cheaper, and it means you don't have to re-learn how to turn pages. They'd be ideal as Christmas presents, especially if you're lazy. Pick a topic, hand over your credit card, and let someone else do all the hard work.
The deal is set to run over the Black Friday weekend, and you can check out the full portfolio of titles here.
