One of the benefits of taking children anywhere is about to be taken away by the Scrooges at Scotrail, which is about to end the free travel tickets for children deal it's been running for years.
The rail franchise's Kids Go Free promotion is being axed as part of a series of price increases that are coming in this January, when the price of taking a child with you rises an infinite number or percentage points from £0 to £1. The discount lives on in a way, though, as it's been rebranded Kids for a Quid. Still quite a cheap price for an interminably slow journey along a winding rural line, but not as magical a price point as free. [Daily Record]
