Remember the dog who was heartlessly abandoned by the side of the road in Stoke-On-Trent in December? The one who ran pitifully after his owner's car, trying to get back in as the scumbag accelerated and drove away, leaving the dog to fend for itself with just its bed on the pavement for company?
Well, besides being absolutely inundated with requests from celebs and dog-lovers alike to rehome the pup, the RSPCA is being petitioned by a whole bunch of people to let Snoop Dogg take him in. Why? Because the dog's name is also Snoop.
Big Snoop has already stated he'll take the Very Good Boy if necessary, telling the Daily Star:
"It is heartbreaking. There is always room for another dog in Casa de Snoop.
If he really needed a home then he has one with us. But I don’t think there is going to be any shortage of loving homes after all the exposure he has got."
Nonetheless, a petition on the Care2 website is rapidly approaching its goal of 50,000 signatures to compel the RSPCA to let the rapper take the dog.
"What better place for Snoop to live out his years then lounging in the lap of luxury with the leader of 'Tha Dogg Pound' himself?" it asks.
The RSPCA says they've had hundreds of enquiries about the Staffordshire bull terrier, who isn't even available for rehoming yet because the investigation is still ongoing. They've repeatedly reminded potential adopters that they have tonnes of other Staffies, dogs and other pets who've had no enquiries at all, and that anyone willing to give a home should consider one of those instead.
Like the gorgeous Ronald, for instance:
"Ronnie is loved by everyone at the centre and he is so well trained. He knows how to sit, lie down, respond to his name, walk to heel, return when he is called and can wait/stay - even with distractions. Oh! And he knows how to twirl."
