Half of us haven't got round to upgrading our TV sets to 4K yet, but manufacturers have stock to shift, so this year's CES is all about the 8K TVs.
To that end, Chinese manufacturer TCL (which also makes Alcatel phones) has announced an 8K TV set with Alexa, and it's coming to the UK.
Launching later this year, the TCL X10 QLED, as it's called, will run on Android TV. It'll also have Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa built in (aww, fwends). In the US, TCL's 8K range will run on Roku's TV interface, but not here.
Of course, if you're going to pay megapounds for an 8K TV, you'd better have some 8K content to go with it – and that's a bit of a problem so far.
Smartly, TCL has announced that its TVs will upscale content from 4K and HD to look superb on your fancy new telly. It'll also apparently have support for all the upcoming HDMI standards, like the promised HDMI 2.1.
We don't have a price for the X10 QLED yet, but we do know it'll have a mega-wide colour gamut, a high-end Onkyo soundbar with Dolby Atmos, and a screen size of 75 inches plus. Yes, you read that correctly.
TVs for millionaires, you heard it here first.
