BA Brings Back BOAC

By Gary Cutlack on at

The arrival of flight BA100 from Dublin to Heathrow marked quite a moment in history for aeroplane enthusiasts today, as the plane landed decked out in a classic retro BOAC paint job designed to mark the centenary celebrations of the national airline created from many forerunner air transport companies.

You don't have to rush to an airport or book a flight to Dublin in order to see it either, as the BOAC-liveried 747 is remaining part of the BA fleet until 2023, when the plane itself is scheduled for retirement. It'll be doing daily runs on all the routes that take 747s, and if you want to track it about the skies, G-BYGC is the unique aeroplane number plate you need to look out for. [Flightradar]
