Judge Orders Destruction of Severn Bridge Climber's Drone

A content-generating man has been officially branded a public nuisance by a court, after he was caught climbing the Severn Bridge with a drone and a mind full of excuses.

Alexandru Scutaru said he was initially happy just taking photos from the landward bits of the structure, before a problem with his drone gave him the spontaneous idea of climbing the towers for some better shots. This rather embarrassingly led to quite an almighty fuss kicking off and triggered the closure of the bridge to traffic while authorities waved him on down, hence the court date.

He's been found guilty of being a nuisance, as they all are, and has been handed the shameful punishment of a curfew, keeping him inside and away from things like bridges between the hours of 10:00 and 18:00. He also has £170 in costs to pay, and the judge ordered the destruction of his drone -- but he dimly told reporters outside he's already saving up for another one. [BBC]
