British OnePlus fans get some minor bragging rights today with the news that the 5G version of the OnePlus 7 will be launching here, but not in the US.
However, it's less good news if you're not on EE, because – like we've heard about the Galaxy Fold – the OnePlus 7 5G will be a network exclusive.
The phone should be arriving on these shores in the second half of 2019, according to USA Today, so there's still a fair while to wait. There will apparently be a prototype of the phone at MWC, so Team Giz UK will be keeping our eyes peeled for it.
We're not 100% sure the phone will be called the OnePlus 7, but the company's given us no reason to think it'll deviate from its oh-so-original numbering system. The OnePlus 6 was announced and released in May last year, and we're expecting something similar for the 7.
While we don't have pricing for the 5G OnePlus 7 just yet, CEO Pete Lau has publicly stated he's intending to keep it affordable, which apparently means under $1000 (£765-ish). While that's not what anyone could call cheap, it's not bad for a flagship, and definitely not for one of the first 5G phones. It also looks distinctly affordable next to the £2k folding phones we've been seeing this week.
