The Paris 2024 organising committee has added "breakdancing" to the bottom of a list of sports it's planning to do and is hoping no one notices, declaring its intention to add the athletic dancing format to the Olympics-after-next.
If the plan is successfully sneaked past the International Olympic Committee, breakdancing will join three other new sort-of sports -- surfing, climbing and skateboarding – on the official rota for 2024. The latter three are already scheduled for their first inclusion in Tokyo's 2020 Olympics, and breakdancing has already been given a trial run at the 2018 Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games, where it was run in a head-to-head elimination format that made it a surprisingly watchable experience.
