Anything's an excuse for an offer these days. Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, the New Year, Blue Monday, and now Valentine's Day.
Valentine's Day offers have always existed, of course, being a deeply consumer-focused holiday -- but we tend to expect them from restaurants and wine companies rather than, say, mobile networks.
Not to be deterred, Vodafone has announced it's "sharing the love" this V-Day with offers including 20% off a card and flowers at Moonpig, and two Odeon tickets for £7.
In classic phone network style, the offers are only available through the VeryMe rewards scheme in the My Vodafone app, and obviously only to Vodafone customers.
Other offers include:
A free selector pack at Hotel Chocolat, two free cookies from Millie’s Cookies and free chocolate hearts from the Grown-Up Chocolate Company. Other new deals include a free hot drink and a snack at any Upper Crust, Caffe Ritazza, Pumpkin, Delice de France or Camden Food Co and free coffee for your Valentine at Coco Di Mama (with a £4 spend).
For those who prefer staying in and catching up on the latest boxsets, VeryMe rewards gives £10 Chilli TV credit plus a free bottle of fizz at Majestic Wine (up to £10). Customers can also enjoy a romantic mini break for less this Valentine’s Day by claiming 10% off Hotels.com, up to 30% off airport parking and 15% off car hire at Holiday Extras.
The offers all have different end dates, so we'd recommend checking in the My Vodafone app before you make any plans or promises to your sweetheart.
Does 15% off car hire make up for Vodafone coming top of no less than two of the Ofcom complaints tables? Let us know in the comments.
