Burger King would like to remind us – somewhat forcefully – that it's the 'home of the Whopper.'
They're doing this in two ways: firstly by giving away free Whoppers (yay!) and secondly by not allowing you to order any other burger.
You can imagine how that went down:
On Whopper Wednesdays, it's Whoppers only from now on. But today, the 17th of April (in case you're reading this in the future, in which case we have a sports almanac to sell you) is Whopper Day, which means free Whoppers for everyone.
Katie Evans, Marketing Director at Burger King UK, said:
"We are so excited to treat the nation to our iconic Whopper. The Whopper is Burger King’s pride and joy, and for one day only we think everyone deserves to get involved, tuck in and savour that flame grilled goodness on us. Burger fans have no choice, but in a good way. Hope you understand. After all, Burger King is not called Home of The Cheeseburger!"
That's lunch sorted then. What a whopping good deal. [Metro]
