Locals in and around Wareham, Dorset, were kept awake by whatever throbbing music the kids listen to these days over the weekend, as the ancient ritual of the outdoor rave was resurrected on farmland.
It's estimated that more than 1,000 people attended, with reports pinpointing the action to fields around Wytch, near Corfe Castle. Seeing as it's 2019 the police took to social media to try to quell the action, warning attendees that they were "trespassing" and ought to head home, even though we all know it's extremely unlikely that the local plod fancies the paperwork involved in processing 1,000 trespassers who legitimately can't remember their home addresses.
One local's main complaint was that it was the new sort of music being played that was the worst thing about it all, as he told the Bournemouth Echo that: "It is a huge gathering of people all listening to horrific Ibiza music. It's really really loud. I have a house full of 20 and 30 year olds and even they are horrified by all the noise." [BBC]
