Today's news about poo being in and/or on stuff you wouldn't expect concerns illegally sourced street drugs, and you can probably imagine how poo gets into and onto cannabis.
If you can't imagine how poo gets on cannabis, it's because of the way it's smuggled around the place; up, down and in in between the bottoms and guts of sellers. This is why researchers have found potentially dangerous levels of E.coli bacteria and the Aspergillus fungus in street-bought samples of cannabis resin, and the poor old researchers even noted that 40 per cent of samples purchased came with the actual aroma of faeces from the many bottoms of the supply chain.
If you want to minimise the risks, avoid the smaller acorn-shaped lumps of the drug, as their size and shape means they're more easily and commonly stored in the fleshy anal pockets of local distributors, or swallowed and pooed out as a means of getting it across international borders. Buy cubes of drugs with sharp corners is the advice, if you want a safer, non-pooey hit. [BBC]
