It's the 75th anniversary of D-Day and Sky News is letting you relive the landings at Normandy with a real-time live blog and it's as harrowing as you'd think.
June 6, 1944, saw allied troops mown down by the thousands as they stormed the beaches at Normandy. The live blog is documenting the events as they happened, 75 years later, and began at 5.30AM with the first wave of soldiers landing on Sword beach.
The updates are coming in every few minutes with reports of bodies "hundreds of bodies...on the beach at Omaha...floating in the water," and you can expect more, equally chipper updates as the day progresses.
Over 150,000 troops went ashore, with 4,400 dead by the end of the day. If you need a stark reminder of the horrors of war before we got drones and missiles to do the dirty work for us, bookmark the page and prepare for a barrage of updates on the chaos that ensued after the landings.
