Samsung Teams up With Hatch for a Mobile 5G Gaming Service

Samsung launched its Galaxy S10 5G last week and has followed up with the announcement of its own 5G gaming app designed in collaboration with game streaming service Hatch.

"The blazing fast speed and low latency of 5G will totally transform mobile gaming, so we're thrilled to work with Hatch to pioneer 5G gaming in the US," said Chris Jo, Samsung Electronics America's head of services.

"The Galaxy S10 5G is built to do more of what you love – hyperfast — and we’re excited to introduce consumers to a new world of services that can be experienced like never before with 5G.”

Hatch has been specifically designed for 5G networks, and offers a library of over 100 mobile games including Monument Valley, Hitman GO and Space Invaders Infinity Gene, while Hatch Premium includes original games like Arkanoid Rising.

The app has already rolled out in South Korea and is now making its way to the US. You can find out more about the app on its official website.  As an added bonus, owners of the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G will get one month of Hatch Premium for free.

"We are thrilled to work with market leader Samsung to bring cloud gaming to some of the world’s largest gaming markets," said Vesa Jutila, Hatch co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer.

“Extending our collaboration from South Korea to the U.S. means we have the opportunity to showcase 5G gaming to some of the world’s most demanding consumers on mobile and dramatically grow the addressable market for our network of 160+ game developer partners.”

There's no word on when the 5G Hatch app will be making its way to the UK just yet.
