Jeremy Hunt is Getting Sick of People Calling Him 'Jeremy C*nt' on Live TV

By Tom Pritchard on at

The man who wants to be our next Prime minister, whose last name rhymes with a very rude word, is getting really sick of the many Freudian slips that have been happening on live TV. You know the ones I'm talking about, where people talking about Jeremy Hunt accidentally blurt out 'Jeremy Cunt' and pretend to look embarrassed. Well apparently this may be causing some old schoolyard memories to resurface.

Talking to the Daily Telegraph's Brexit podcast (because of course the Telegraph has a Brexit podcast), Mr Hunt has asked broadcasters to stop doing it. Because it's mean, and it turns out he was regularly called Jeremy Cunt by other kids at school.

“I’m used to it. I had this when I was at school. Personally I think people should just grow up and get over the fact that my last name rhymes with a rather unpleasant word.”

Well kids are cruel, as everyone knows. My last name is Pritchard, so there are plenty of rude things that can be thrown in there. Nobody's ever called me 'Prickchard' by accident, though, and it's not clear what's causing this trend in TV broadcasters. Perhaps it's because journalists are a foul-mouthed lot and sometimes these things slip out. Or maybe they secretly believe Jeremy Hunt is a cunt, and that's why it keeps popping out by accident. Sadly as we can't read their minds we will never know.

But please guys, try and stop. You're hurting Jeremy's feelings, and just because he has a record of voting against equality and human rights laws and raising welfare benefits doesn't mean he isn't a human being too. [The Independent]
