In case you somehow forgot, it's Amazon Prime Day next week, and eBay has been trolling the crap out of Amazon about it, going as far as planning a sale for if/when the site crashes.
eBay announced its Crash Sale last month along with weeks of discounted items in the run-up to the big day. The Crash Sale will kick in if Amazon goes down like it did last year.
The sale even has its own promo ad now, with eBay going hard on Amazon with its "Honest Alexa" social media video.
There's no new info in the ad. It's just a minute of ragging on Amazon and shit-talking its sale that's just a ruse for Amazon "trying to clear room" in its warehouse. eBay on the other hand, is offering deals on "things people actually want."
The ad follows in the wake of eBay's announcement that it will be offering a range of products for the same price as an Amazon membership - which is usually £79 but has just been dropped by £20 - which brings the prices well below Amazon's for the same items.
Who doesn't a love a bit of balls-out, don't-give-a-fuck, ribbing. I enjoyed it, and that's all that matters. Whatever you think of eBay's trolling, you're still getting a load of money off a shit ton of stuff, so enjoy.
