Just last week, we got an official glimpse at Samsung's Galaxy Watch Active 2, set to be unveiled at Unpacked next month, and now we have new details that point to three models.
Sources talking to Wareable have reportedly confirmed that the new smartwatch, code-named Renaissance, will be available in 44mm or 40mm with the three models being Bluetooth-only, LTE, and a second Bluetooth model with Under Armour-branding that will come with a free six months subscription to MapMyRun and a sporty strap.
The LTE variant will apparently boast a leather strap, stainless steel case, and four colour options to choose from: a black case and black strap, a silver case and black strap, a gold case and brown strap, and to mix things up a bit, a rose gold case and pink strap, although this model will only be available in the smaller 40mm size.
Both Bluetooth models will sport an aluminium case in rose gold, dark blue, and silver, with matching straps.
The electrocardiogram feature is expected to roll out eventually and will be unveiled at Unpacked, but is currently mired down waiting on approval from the FDA, with the source saying it won't go live until the first half of 2020. There will still be heart rate monitoring functionality in the interim though.
The Galaxy Watch Active 2 is said to bridge the gap between the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active, although Samsung is said to be focusing on fitness with the Galaxy Watch Active 2.
We'll find out more at Unpacked on August 7. [Wareable]
