Vodafone's 5G rollout continues with its 5G roaming that goes live today in 55 towns and cities across Europe.
Conveniently coinciding with your summer holidays, Vodafone's 5G roaming is now live in locations across Germany, Spain, Italy, and the UK, including popular tourist traps like Madrid, Munich, Rome and London.
"We have accelerated the availability of 5G roaming just as schools break up for the summer holiday," said Nick Jeffery, Vodafone UK chief executive officer. "With 5G in more places than with any other network, our customers can keep in touch with loved ones at home, colleagues in the office or with their business customers while they’re travelling abroad.”
With Vodafone's pay monthly plans, you don't have to pay extra for 5G roaming - as it's the same rate as 4G roaming, which is handy. Speaking of 4G roaming, Vodafone has 156 locations covered which is more than its UK competitors, so if you're planning on a lot of international travel and don't want to worry about connectivity or the phone bill for your new 5G phone, this could be right up your street.
There's not a huge choice of 5G handsets on offer from Vodafone at the moment, with the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G and the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G being the only 5G-ready devices offered by the network, so that's not ideal.
Vodafone was initially going to be offering the Huawei Mate 20 X 5G as part of its launch lineup with EE, but the pair got cold feet following the Huawei circus that's still ongoing. However the handset is now available from Three, Sky Mobile, and Carphone Warehouse.
