Celebrate DOOM Eternal's Impending Release With a Cold Glass of Cow Bone Vodka

What do you think of when you hear DOOM? Whatever you're thinking, it's probably not vodka and cow bones (we hope).

That might all be about to change, however, as in celebration of the upcoming video game DOOM Eternal, releasing 22nd November, Bethesda and Rebel Distillers have announced a partnership that will see Europe's first spirit designed specifically for a video game - DOOM Bone Vodka.

The vodka is launching today for pre-sale at http://www.doom.vodka (big points for commitment with that domain name), and is priced at £45 for 700ml.

You know it's posh because the fancy glass bottle it comes in is made in France. Well, that and the fact it costs nearly 50 quid.

But that's not all. You see, the special DOOM flavour comes from actual beef bones procured from London butchers The Ginger Pig. Yes, you read that right. DOOM Bone Vodka is made using the "finest quality and ethically sourced beef bones and organic ingredients". That's some interesting spirit provenance right there.

“They’re one of the best butchers in the country where animal welfare is unparalleled, and a product often wasted can be put to good use. We’ll be making a limited amount of the product in the lead up to the game’s launch in November," Matt McGivern of Rebel Distillers says on the inclusion of the odd ingredient.

Admittedly I'm not much of a vodka drinker, but I just can't imagine bovine bone marrow going particularly well with any spirits. Still, consider my curiosity officially piqued.
