Recently more and more rumours have been popping up about the much-belated release of the Samsung Galaxy Fold. Last week we heard from one source that it would launch this week, and now more rumours are hitting the net with some extra details that may suggest it's finally happening on Friday
According to Korea Herald "industry sources" claim that Samsung is ready to roll out between twenty thousand and thirty thousand units on Friday 6th. If that's the case we may also see the phone appear in some shape or form at IFA, even though Berlin is quite a long way from South Korea. It also notes that a global launch "seems imminent".
TechRadar speculates that the initial launch will be focused on those who've already pre-ordered the phone and have been waiting many months for it to arrive. They point out that Korean network KT is reportedly set to release the phone on September 11th (via TizenHelp) for the customers who pre-ordered with it.
As for us, we shouldn't have to wait much longer either. Pre-registration is already back up in the UK, and according to Evan Blass a wider release should happen on 27th September. It's not clear whether that only applies to the US, but even if it does we should expect a UK launch to follow pretty quickly.
