The iPhone 11 launch is set to kick off at 6pm, but as is the way there are always last minute leaks to rear their head and spoil whatever it is Apple has planned. Today that leak is for a new iPad with a 10.2-inch screen.
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman the iPad reveal is set to be an extra little announcement to complement the iPhone 11 series reveal everyone was already expecting.
Let me help you out. 10.2 inch entry iPad. https://t.co/xK8uDF7Go6

Gurman says that this won't necessarily be the final announcement of the presentation, which would have been odd seeing as how the iPad isn't exactly the most important part of Apple's current lineup.
Pocket Lint speculates that it could be a new entry level model, since the existing one is already over a year old at this point. Not that Apple has ever been particularly good at refreshing its iPads on a regular basis. Then again iPadOS is on the way, and it would make sense for Apple to have a specialised launch device at the ready.
Maybe Apple will go affordable on us, and offer an iPad that's cheaper than whatever is already on the market - though 'affordable' is a word that definitely has a different meaning in the Cupertino English Dictionary.
