Top Gear is Getting its Own Lego Set, and on That Bombshell, Goodnight

BBC Studios is partnering up with the Lego Group for a Lego Technic Top Gear set launching next year.

Sadly as its a Technic set, it's highly unlikely we'll see any Top Gear-themed minifigs. Perhaps you still could create your own Clarkson, though, and have him backhand the rest of the cast and crew depending on his time of the month, or you could cobble together the new cast that no one cares about if you prefer. The actual focus of the set is to provide kids (and larger humans who still enjoy Lego) with the challenge of building models to mirror some functionality of their real-world counterparts, and make the whole process more challenging. A bit like that Lego Technic Land Rover by the sounds of things.

"We are extremely excited to have partnered with LEGO Technic,” said BBC Studios's Jason Easy. “Both brands enjoy a very close relationship with their fans; it’s certainly a natural fit for both, and we’re really looking forward to seeing the LEGO Technic set hit the shelves next year.”

The set is "inspired" by the series, so I doubt we'll see the current cast of Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff, Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris make an appearance, or The Stig, if he's even on the show still. It's aimed at children ages 9 and above, so if you're a grown lady looking to make some fun Lego cars, this should be a walk in the park, and make a perfect addition to your dining room table collection.
