Another credit card company is offering a VR experience featuring some big names in sports for no particular reason.
Mastercard is the principal sponspor of this year's Rugby World Cup and will be opening up a 'VR tackle' - no, not that kind - experience on Friday, September 13, that involves you donning haptic body suit and VR headset and getting tackled in VR by your choice of Chris Robshaw, Jason Robinson and Maggie Alphonsi.
"Leveraging the latest virtual reality and haptic technology means our Contactless Tackle event will be like nothing else fans have experienced before. If you have ever wondered what it feels like to be tackled by a professional rugby player, come along. For most of us, this is as real as its going to get!”
So you can tick that off your half-arsing it bucket list then.
If this sounds like something you'd like to subject yourself to, get down to Exchange Square, Broadgate this Friday between 12pm and 7pm. The only requirement is that you be over 16-years old.
American Express did something equally pointless back in June, letting Wimbledon attendees square up to a virtual Andy Murray for what I'm sure was a whale of a time.
