Morrisons and Amazon Draw up Multi-Year Deal to Keep Delivering Your Same-Day Groceries

Morrisons super-fast same-day grocery deliver service that it runs in conjunctions with Amazon could be coming to your hometown a bit faster thanks to the new contract between the two.

Which is great news, because as long as where I live is absent from the list, I will continue to gripe about it. The service is currently available in Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, and some areas of London, and over the summer, Glasgow, Newcastle, Liverpool, Sheffield, and Portsmouth were announced as the next to be added to the list. A rejig of the deal between Morrisons and Amazon will see even more locations added to cover “many more cities across the UK”.

What was initially a rolling contract is now a multi-year deal, that will see the additional places being encompassed by the service over the coming years.

"We are committed to growing our grocery business and continuing to innovate and deliver the things our customers will always care about including low prices, vast selection, and fast delivery," said Amazon UK country manager, Doug Gurr. "Our relationship with Morrisons is an important part of this growth.”

The service costs an extra £7.99 on top of your Prime subscription for delivery within an hour of placing your order, but if you can manage to hold out for two hours, it'll be free. You can visit the website or and app, and search for ‘Morrisons at Amazon' to see the range of items on offer.
