After months of speculation, OnePlus has made it official. Its 7 series is getting a T iteration and it'll be launching on October 10.
The Global Launch event is set to take place at the brand new Magazine London venue in North Greenwich and kicks off at 4pm BST. The event is open to the public with tickets going on sale from September 22, although you can snap them up early when the early bird tickets go live on September 20 at 10am.
Earlier this month, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the company had a new handset in the works that would be cheaper than the OnePlus 7 Pro, and hinted at a 90Hz display. Well that's now been confirmed by the official announcement and accompanying teaser video on YouTube.
"The OnePlus 7T Series is coming soon. Faster and smoother than ever before, we're on a mission to spread 90 Hz to eyes the world over," reads the description.
"OnePlus has been built around the idea of fast and smooth, and we constantly challenge ourselves to be even better. Your smartphone’s display is the element you interact with the most, so it makes sense to invest in screen innovation. I’m really excited to hear what our users think of the OnePlus 7T Series,” said Lau.
If you can't be arsed to buy tickets and get yourself to London, you can watch the event unfold via the livestream. OnePlus is also running a competition for its community members to win a trip to the launch event in London which includes backstage access, sitting in on the rehearsal, and a VIP launch event ticket.
As usual, OnePlus will be opening up global pop-ups to accompany the launch, although there aren't any details aside from the fact that they're happening.
The press release says that the 7T series is first being announced in India on September 26, but teases "much more to come in London," so we'll have to wait and see how much is left in the way of surprises when October rolls around.
