Give Britbox a Whirl With a 30 Day Free Trial Ahead of Launch

A testing phase for the Britbox streaming service is now open, so you can try it out before it launches.

Britbox is a service that brings ITV and BBC content to viewers in the US and Canada, and this summer, it was announced that a UK launch was on the way for some reason. In an attempt to justify the decision, and add some measure of value for viewers on these shores, original shows have been teased for the platform which will start rolling out next year.

The launch is slated for this year, and it looks like we're pretty close, with a 30-day trial popping up on the official website as part of a beta test. The trial is described as "only a snapshot" of what the service has to offer, so you can decide if it's worth the £5.99 monthly subscription fee to watch content that already exists on BBC iPlayer  and ITV Hub.

The BBC is clearly feeling confident about it, as evidenced by its recent announcement of yet another iPlayer revamp. We're as sure of Britbox's success as it seems to be. [RadioTimes]
