IKEA Kicks off Christmas With a Traditional Swedish Spread This December

By Shabana Arif on at

The retailer will be hosting a buffet to celebrate the tradition of Santa Lucia on December 13.

All of the feasting will be accompanied by a candlelit procession which would look eerily haunting against the backdrop of a Swedish forest, but will be somewhat lacking in gravitas as it trudges through the aisles of IKEA and down the High Street.

The festival used to fall on the longest night of the year and will include a sample of traditional fare, like meatballs, herring, marinated salmon, potatoes, eggs, variations of cabbage, crispbread, cheese, gingerbread, and a boiled Christmas ham.

You'll have to buy a ticket if you want to get involved so check out the website for timing and ticket info for your local store.
